Tuesday Update

Well, it looks like we may be nearing the finish line. The finish line being home.
Ben has continued to eat and poop well without any issues. In fact, by the end of tonight (our 10:00 feed) he was taking 3 ounces and potentially would have taken more!
This morning his bili level was 14 so they took a light off him. This afternoon it was 11 so they discontinued the phototherapy altogether. (His bili level yesterday at the beginning of phototherapy was 18).
He will have a bili count at 6 a.m. tomorrow. If, and this is where we all cross our fingers, IF his level has remained stable...we should be able to go HOME! So, we'll see in the morning!! Let's all think PINK skin! We'll keep you posted, but I hope to blog from good ol' Bunker Hill tomorrow!
Abbie came up today after preschool and we celebrated her birthday. We took her to the Springfield zoo. I think there was 1 other group there. It was dirty, and only took us an hour to go through, but she had fun. She got a big snake from the gift shop, which she has named reddy yellow. Can you guess what colors it is?
When we left she got to see a snake eating a big, white rat. Yeah, that was fun to explain. She was curious where the mouse's head was, but didn't seem too concerned to learn it was already in the snake's mouth.
After the zoo, we took her up to see Ben. They snuck us in a room so that she could see him. She hasn't quite warmed up to him yet. Our Pastor had been at the hospital earlier in the day and left her a gift. She was pretty excited about it, a beanie bear with Lincoln and the Capitol on it. Then it was a quick trip to Jacksonville to meet Memaw and Abbie went back with her. Not a bad day for totally winging her birthday, and scheduling it around school and feedings. We will have a party for her on Sunday. That's all from our world...GOOD NIGHT!
