What Is This?

This is Ben's foot.
This is Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease.

Vacations are usually eventful.
Ours was no exception.
Here's the rundown:
On Monday, our van had a flat tire.
On Tuesday, I took it to a Chrysler car dealership a half hour away.
Since our van is new we were able to get a free rental.
Meanwhile, Monday and Tuesday, Ben didn't seem to be himself.
He wasn't sleeping all night, wasn't eating, and ended up running a 103 degree temp Tuesday night.
Wednesday I found a clinic and got Ben an appointment with a pediatrician.
As I sat in the office I started to notice "dots" around his fingers.
Then I noticed a single dot by his lips. This prompted me to look at the bottom of his feet. Yep!
By the time we got in with the pediatrician I was pretty convinced.
She took one look in his mouth and confirmed. Apparently they were pretty rampant.
I made a quick trip to Target for Tylenol and Motrin, then headed to pick up the van.
On Thursday night, at the amusement park, Abbie & Will started getting sluggish.
Home to take temps...yep, 103 degrees for each of them. Dots in mouth...check!
Theirs was pretty quick lived though. They felt better the next day, nor did they get any on their hands or feet.
The rash lingered on for Ben. He definitely felt better, but the spots stayed for a good week before blistering and peeling.
The pic was taken on Saturday, the last day of vacation.
On Friday, my dad's half brother passed away.
They left for home a day early, partly due to this, and partly because Aimee had hit her max with Mya being uncooperative. I think she also missed Drew, who was unable to go because of work.
I'm not sure it was the best Christmas present we ever got my parents and sister, but hopefully they had some fun.
