Oh child. Sweet child of mine.
Some days I wonder what I'm going to do with you. And your sister for that matter. And eventually I'm sure I'll wonder about your other brother.
But today....today, let's focus on you.
Those naive people who think staying at home is the most incredible job?!? I invite you to give it a shot. I used to be one of them. Then I had three kids.
Now let me give a disclaimer here. I LOVE my kids. I KNOW I am VERY fortunate to stay home with the. I am LUCKY to spend so much time with them, to watch them grow right before my eyes, to catch all their milestones the minute they do them. And thank you, thank you, thank you for allowing me this opportunity.
But.....
Sometimes those very great things are not quite so great. Sometimes I miss work. Whiny client? You get to hang up the phone eventually. You get to leave your home visit. Annoying co-worker? You can walk away, close the door. On evenings and weekends you can leave work behind you. I mean, you can even go the bathroom by yourself at work!
Would I leave my job as a SAHM (stay at home mom)? Not if I don't have to. But it doesn't mean a girl can't complain every once in awhile.
Which brings me back to that sweet little child of mine. I like to call him Booter.
Today, my friends, he peed on the floor.
The kitchen floor.
He's been on this kick lately of wanting someone to take him to the bathroom. There's no reason for it. Most of the time you can walk him in and leave.
Today I challenged him. I didn't feel like escorting him.
I told him to go by himself.
Instead?
He peed on the floor and then had the audacity to look me in the eyes and say, "Now look what you made me do?"
Really?!?!? Really?!?!?
Rest assured my little friend, one day I will pay you back.
Why won't I extend your curfew? Let you go to that party? Why do you have to clean the bathroom again?
BECAUSE YOU PURPOSELY STOOD AND PEED ON MY FLOOR ON MAY 11, 2010!
That's why!
And remember, one day you'll be changing my depends.
One day you'll have little ones.
It's full circle my sweet little one.
I love my kids. Welcome to the life of a SAHM!
