Is this really my life? Is this really what I do everyday? Really?? And no pays me?
I mean, God love my children, because I really do.....I promise!
But seriously, can I get ahead for just a quick minute?
The kitchen and hardwood floors needed cleaning. I spent yesterday psyching myself up to take on this task today. Yes, with this enormous belly and aching back, it honestly takes a day of psyching up to move forward.
So, today after lunch, I bring the vacuum upstairs to get to work. Yes, I had to carry the stupid appliance up the stairs. (I think I need two vacuums, one for up, one for down).
And I vacuum.
I don't know how you guys vacuum, but when I don't cheat with the Dirt Devil broom vac, I actually move furniture and get down and vacuum around all the baseboards, etc. It had been a week since I had last done this without cheating so we're talking crumbs and such to be dealt with.
I finish.
I decide I need a break. The kids are playing together great. What a fine opportunity to slip downstairs and check my email, facebook, myspace...you know catch up with the rest of the world.
I finish my nice little break.
I walk up the stairs, and there stand my two little angels. They are each holding a pair of Abbie's shoes, and walking to the bathroom. Hmmmmm.....
"Abbie, honey, what are you doing?"
"We're washing my shoes."
"NOOOO!!!"
This is where I wish our camera was working. There must be 6,7,8 pairs of shoes all over the bathroom counter. Dripping wet!!
Straight to time out they go.
To the kitchen I go to finish and mop the floors. I'll deal with wet shoes later.
Wait, what is this???
What are these tiny, pink sprinkles? You know, the ones you put on cookies and cupcakes. All over my freshly vacuumed tile???? Are you kidding me?
And we all know these precious, tiny, pink sprinkles don't just dump nicely into one spot of the floor. Oh no, they are everywhere. Back to vacuuming the floors, and while I'm at it the baseboards where the tiny, pink sprinkles have collected.
So, this is my second break of the day.
Will is napping.
Abbie is on an extended time out. The girl doesn't nap anymore, so she is to stay in her room and read.
Off to mop the floor, hopefully for real this time...

Long ago, for sanity purposes, I stopped caring. I figure someday, when it's just Jason and I, I'll have plenty of time to really clean the house!
