Surprise!

What is this?
The last weekend in June we had a surprise party for Nona celebrating her 60th birthday and her semi-retirement.
Nona retired from her long career as a nurse and is now working part time as our church secretary.
She started at the church in January. Abbie, Will, and Ben got to see her 3 mornings a week when Abbie went to school.
There has been a lot of commotion this year between Nono's knee, Rose's health, Jeb's surgery, moving, and of course keeping up with the grandchildren. I'm not sure she's been able to enjoy her retirement yet, but perhaps one is never truly retired.


The party was held at Aunt Katy and Randy's house. There was yummy food and good company. Nona was adamant that she wanted no parties, but I think she may have forgiven us.

Who could stay mad at a face like this?
